A Beginner's Guide to Using Crypto Prop Firms
A beginner-friendly walkthrough from creating an account to opening the trading platform and checking your account rules before a first trade.
By GN Media
Prop firms give traders access to larger trading accounts without requiring them to commit the full amount of capital themselves. In exchange, traders must follow a set of rules, which may include profit targets, maximum loss limits, daily drawdowns, and specific payout requirements. Understanding how these rules work is essential before choosing a platform or paying for an account.
This guide uses FundedXyz as an example to explain how crypto prop firms and funded trading accounts work. FundedXyz is a crypto proprietary trading platform that offers several ways to access a simulated trading account, each with different objectives, loss limits, fees, and payout conditions.
This guide is designed to help you understand where to start and what to verify before signing up. It does not recommend a specific plan or provide trading strategies.
FundedXyz states that its platform operates using simulated trading accounts. Before making a payment, always review the latest FundedXyz rules, pricing, and account conditions. The terms displayed during checkout and inside your dashboard should always take priority over any third-party summary, including this guide.
Quick summary
In this guide, you will:
Create a FundedXyz account.
Compare X, Y, and Z Mode at a high level.
Select an account size and review its rules.
Complete checkout.
Find the account objectives in your dashboard.
Open the trading platform and check the order screen.
1. Create your account
Open the official FundedXyz trader portal. Choose the sign-up option, enter an email address you control, and create a unique password. Complete any email verification the portal requests, then sign in.

Use the official domain directly. Do not create an account through a link sent by an unknown person, and never share a password or one-time verification code.
2. Understand the three modes
FundedXyz currently presents three main paths.

X Mode is described as instant funding. There is no evaluation profit target before access, but account-level loss, position, order, and withdrawal rules still apply.
Y Mode uses an evaluation. A trader must meet the stated target without breaking the loss rules before moving to the funded stage.
Z Mode uses an evaluation tied to a fixed scholarship-style payout. The official FAQ says it does not issue a funded account after completion.
These products can change. Compare the live cards on the official pricing page, not a screenshot or an old social-media post.

3. Choose an account size and read every objective
After selecting a mode, choose an available account size. Before continuing, write down the values shown for your exact option:
Profit target, if the mode has one
Maximum overall loss
Maximum daily loss
Available trading pairs
Leverage and position limits
Minimum or maximum trading-day rules
Profit split or scholarship amount
Payout minimum and timing
One-time fee and refund conditions

Do not assume that two account sizes or modes use the same rules. A lower entry fee can come with tighter limits. If a term is unclear, ask official support before checkout.
4. Review checkout before paying
The checkout summary should match the mode and account size you selected. Check the fee, currency, discount, and final amount before entering payment details. Keep the receipt and a copy of the rules that applied when you purchased.
A prop-trading fee pays for access under a set of rules. It is not a deposit into a personal brokerage account, and it does not guarantee a payout.
5. Find the account in your dashboard
After checkout is confirmed, return to the trader portal and open the new account. Locate the dashboard area that shows the account identifier, starting balance, current equity, profit target, daily loss, and maximum loss.
Check that these values match the plan you purchased. If they do not, stop and contact support before opening a position. Save the account identifier and access credentials somewhere private, but never publish login details or access credentials.
6. Open the trading platform
Use the platform link or credentials provided inside the authenticated dashboard. Confirm that you are viewing the correct account before doing anything else.
On the trading screen, find:
The account name or identifier
Balance and equity
The list of supported trading pairs
The order ticket
Current open orders and positions
The place where a position can be closed
The exact screen may change, so use the labels in your live account rather than relying on the position of a button in an older guide.
7. Pause before the first order
Before placing an order, compare its size and potential loss with the account rules. Check the pair, order type, entry price, quantity, leverage, and exit controls. FundedXyz says some modes have specific entry-order and position-risk restrictions, so confirm the current rule for your mode first.
Where to get official help
Use the official FundedXyz FAQ for current definitions and support routes. Keep written copies of any answer that changes how you understand an account rule.
